             Sunshine


             It was raining for the last two years
             And the farmer's eyes were filled with tears
             For the crops had failed
             And the sky only wailed.

             In place of crops,
             The field had inch-thick mud.
             Nothing did he have to buy or to sell,
             One bowl of porridge-was all that he had.

             Two days had passed,

             To keep faith in God,

             Every cloud has a silver lining.                    Lighter Note
             The Sun came out with its cherishing heat
             Breaking the cold, distributing its heat.                      The year 2020 is a gimmick
             The sky never seemed so joyful before                          And has brought with it the
             And the farmer never wanted anything more.                     pandemic
                                                                            Tired of being in lockdown
             The fields had dried
             And the farmer happily cried                        We are left but only with a frown
             For he had seen a little green sapling              So I made up my mind
             Which had won the fight.

                                                                 Went out to the nearby park

                                                                 And sat down to hear the lark
                                                                 Dancing came some tiny tots
                                                                 And taught me lessons lots

                                                                 They sang songs of 3 D SHAPES
                                                                 I admired with a greater gape
                                                                 “ 3- D Shapes are FAT not FLAT

                                                                 A  CONE is like a party hat
                                                                 A SPHERE  is like a bouncy ball
                                                                 A CUBOIDis like a building tall

                                                                 A CYLINDER is like a can of soda pop
                                                                 A CUBE like the dice you drop
                                                                 3 D SHAPES are here and there

                                                                 3 D SHAPES are everywhere….”
                                                                 I came back home with a lighter heart
                                                                 Riding on a horse-driven cart.
